スペインとポルトガルに拠点を置くImaginária Recordsによるコンピレーション「(EL MUNDO ES SONIDO) THE WORLD IS SOUND - SECOND: THE PLACE」（レコード + デジタルアルバム）に「Baiza (Piano Solo)」が収録されました。3作によるシリーズの第2弾で、場所がテーマとのこと。人生、研究の本質、出会いの豊かさの比喩となる形而上学的な旅の歩み。私たちの外側にあるものとの出会いは、内側に深く根付いているものとのそれになるのを感じさせる。そういう哲学がコンセプトのようです。果てに行って懐かしさを覚える、あの感じだろうか。象徴として、溶岩がジャケットになっています。嬉しい偶然で、仙台の盟友antennasiaの作品も収録されています。

The soundtrack of Imaginària Records continues through the natural elements of our Planet. Split into the three moments of a single cycle, after the journey (The Trip) and then the places (The Place), to arrive at a conclusive return. The label traces the steps of a metaphysical journey that becomes a metaphor for life, the essence of research and the richness of encounters.
And it is in this record, The Place, that we feel how the encounter with the elements of the world, with the places of the Earth, with what is outside of us, actually becomes an encounter with what is deeply-rooted within us: the evocation of distant worlds and noises of Life, become an exploration of inner landscapes, where earth and fire return to immerse us in the unfathomable and obscure depths of being a Man. From here every noise of life springs and is reabsorbed, from here every vibration of the world starts and returns, to remind us, always and again, that 'the world is sound'.

2016年夏を飾る最新のリゾート・サウンド！
気鋭のサウンド・プロデューサー3人が、ハワイアン／エキゾチカの名曲を、都市感覚でカヴァー。

エキゾチカとは・・・
エキゾチックな南国の楽園をイメージしてアメリカ人が作り上げたイージーリスニング音楽ジャンル。マーティン・デニーのアルバム「エキゾチカ」に由来している。1950～60年代にアメリカで大流行した。1990年代には、クラブ・ミュージック台頭の中で、ラウンジ・ミュージックとして再評価された。

Jazztronik：
野崎良太が率いる特定のメンバーを持たない自由なミュージック・プロジェクト。サウンド・プロデューサー、リミキサー、ミュージシャンとしても数多のアーティストとコラボレーションを重ね、葉加瀬太郎、Mondo Grosso、TRF、ゴスペラーズ、山崎まさよし、椎名林檎、布袋寅泰、今井美樹、松下奈緒、flumpool、Coming Century、等 ・・・多数。2003年にサンディーとコラボしたアルバム「Tiki Tiki」以来久々に、今作でハワイアン／エキゾチカをカヴァーした。

田村玄一：
ジャンルを超えた感覚で多方面より支持されているマルチ・プレイヤー。特にスティールギター＆スティールパン奏者としての評価が高い。
'93 中西俊夫 (ex,Plasticks, Melon)や森俊二(Natural Calamity)らと『Group of Gods』を発表、各方面で話題となる。“LITTLE TEMPO”のアルバム『THE WAY BACK HOME』のレコーディングにたまたま参加。これがきっかけで全てのアルバムとライブに参加するようになる。アルバム『MUSICAL BRAIN FOOD』より正式メンバーとなった。2013年夏からはKIRINJIの正式メンバーとしても活動中。

安田寿之：
電子音楽をベースにジャンルレスに活動する音楽家／作編曲家／プロデューサー。MEGADOLLYレーベル代表。「ROBO*BRAZILEIRA」としてブラジル音楽を歌うなどユニークなソロ活動を主体に、Towa Tei、Señor Coconut（Atom Heart）、Clare and The Reasons、Fernanda Takai（Pato Fu）など、内外・ジャンル問わず共作・共演。CM、中野裕之監督映画、篠山紀信写真映像作品、桑原茂一コメディ作品、パフォーマンスなどへの音楽制作も多数。Les Siestes Électroniques（フランス）、Sonarsound Tokyo、Apple Storeなどに出演。

千年の古湯で繰り広げられて来た日本の古層と電子音楽シーンとの邂逅と交錯の記録をコンパイル。 臨湯感あふれる温泉コンピレーションの集大成。

2007年架空の温泉郷と70年代のセッションアルバムをイメージしてリリースした温泉コンピレーション『Over Flow』からスタートした涼音堂の温泉での冒険。
その後、東北最大の湯治場鳴子温泉での『鳴響』、渋温泉での『渋響』、月山山麓の聖域肘折温泉での『肘響』といった千年の歴史を持つ古湯ばかりで開催された電子音楽と温泉の祭典で繰り広げられて来た日本の古層と電子音楽シーンとの邂逅と交錯の記録、それぞれの温泉とのかかわりの中から生まれた楽曲をコンパイル。
山伏・坂本大三郎のユニットエンヤカヤカヤカ・ブー、渋温泉の名物おばあちゃん松田れい子さんの紙芝居、渋温泉の若衆による「御柱祭」に歌われる木遣り唄、世界的舞踏家森繁哉との楽曲など貴重な音源を収録。涼音堂の温泉をめぐる冒険の軌跡をたどる集大成的一枚。

「お花を飾るように、絵を飾るように、お店に素敵な音楽も流したい」というコンセプトでレストランレコーディングミュージックを展開する、西麻布のフレンチレストラン「Les Rendez-vous de Tokyo」。その第3作目になる今作は、電子音楽をベースにジャンルレスに活動する音楽家安田寿之が、ヴィオリスト河村泉と3人のヴォーカリストles chouquettes（佐藤多歌子、小阪亜矢子、岡本真梨子）をフィーチャーしプロデュースしたラウンジーなミニアルバム。サントラ、電子音楽、ラテンなどの要素も織り交ぜた、都会的な先進性とウィット感が漂う作品になりました。

arigato Inc. produces restaurant recording music regarding as displaying flowers and paintings at the restaurant. This is the 3rd album produced by a musician Toshiyuki Yasuda who creates cross-genre music based on electronic music, and it features a violist Izumi Kawamura and three vocalists, Takako Sato, Ayako Kosaka, Mariko Okamoto (as "les chouquettes"). It has soundtrack, electronic and latin feels that gives urban and witty ambience.

1曲目に引き続き、ピアノアプリ、カリンバをグラニュラー処理したトラック、お客様の声・キッチンの音などを使いながら、いつの間にか次曲に繋げる前奏。

フランスの民謡。「ずっと愛していたあなたを忘れない」という歌詞で段落ごとに締める通り、当地では野辺の送りでよく歌われるとのこと。河村泉さんが提案してくれた曲で、明るくてかわいい曲調のギャップが都会的に感じ、今回取り上げました。ヴォーカルは全員フランス語堪能な、「Les Rendez-vous de Tokyo」で働く岡本真梨子さん、テクノポップ・ユニットfantaholicの佐藤多歌子さん、メゾソプラノ歌手の小阪亜矢子さん。

サントラ「The Party」に倣い、ヴォーカルヴァージョンも収録。ラテンのバラードのような打楽器とエレクトロニックなベースを下地にしながら、上品に仕上げました。4曲目に続き、佐藤多歌子さん、小阪亜矢子さんと共に、ヴィオリストの河村泉さんの歌もフィーチャーしています。男性ヴォーカルとして、僕の歌手エイリアス「ROBO*BRAZILEIRA」も歌っています。

安田寿之（Toshiyuki Yasuda）
電子音楽をベースにジャンルレスに活動する音楽家／作編曲家／プロデューサー。MEGADOLLYレーベル代表。1973年生まれ。兵庫県宝塚市出身。立命館大学理工学部卒。1994年、Fantastic Plastic Machineに参加。Pizzicato Five、Towa Tei、Combustible Edisonなどのプロジェクトを手掛け、1997年のFPMデビューアルバムを最後に脱退。
「ROBO*BRAZILEIRA」としてブラジル音楽を歌うなどユニークなソロ活動を主体に、Towa Tei、Señor Coconut（Atom Heart）、Clare and The Reasons、Fernanda Takai（Pato Fu）など、内外・ジャンル問わず共作・共演。CM、中野裕之監督映画、篠山紀信写真映像作品、桑原茂一コメディ作品、維新派や升田学のパフォーマンスなどへの音楽制作も多数。
新しい形の「音楽のソーシャル・ハブ」になるべく、直接配信契約するiTunes Storeで多様なアーティスト作品を全世界発表する。常に、既成概念を打破する新しい音楽の公表方法を模索／実施している。2013年には、1点物の音楽作品と写真を組み合わせた「音楽家の写真展」を行う。

静かに波打つ朝の海岸近くの森の中で、様々なトロピカルバードがさえずる朝。雄大で明るい自然の中で人間の小ささを感じ、原点回帰するかのような昼。遙か水平線に沈む夕日を見送り迎える、静かな夜のビーチでの瞑想。3つの時間帯による3曲で、世界のどことも違う壮大さとロマンチックさを兼ね備えたハワイでの1日をイメージしました。ハワイアン音楽の持つ穏やかなシンプルさには、複雑で押し付けがましい表現を超越した達観を感じます。そういう音楽性をグラニュラー（音をランダムに配置し再生成する音響生成法）やドローン（非常に長く延びた持続単音）を実験的にならず用い、スチール・ギターなどのエッセンスを含んで形にしました。

神々しく清らかなせせらぎの中で目覚め、ゆったり時間が流れる青々とした森林で過ごし、虫の音と同化するかのように深い眠りに入る、という自然と調和した穏やかで煌びやかなバリ島の1日を3曲で表現しました。ガムラン（青銅などでできた打楽器）やスリン（竹製の笛）などの伝統楽器を用いながらもエレクトロニックな要素も含んだ、ヒーリングミュージックには収まらない、記憶のどこかに入り込むかのようなアンビエント作品になりました。

アンビエントでありながらアンビエントに囚われていない、
イメージ豊かに静謐な中にもオーガニックで微熱を帯びた現代の電子音集。

dip in the poolの木村達司を中心にモーガン・フィッシャー、安田寿之というそれぞれ異なる活動を展開している3人が、「アンビエント」という言葉をキーワードに、彼らがイメージする「アンビエント」をそれぞれが制作し、曲によってはコラボレーションという形で1枚のアルバムにコンパイル。ゲスト・ボーカルに甲田益也子（dip in the pool）、本田みちよ（OVERROCKET）を迎え、アンビエント、エレクトロ、ヒーリング、民族音楽など、様々なエッセンスが絶妙にブレンドされた、2013年のアンビエントミュージックの一つの形がここに誕生。



木村達司 (dip in the pool)
ファッションモデルとしてカリスマ的な人気のあったボーカルの甲田益也子と共に1983年にdip in the poolを結成。独特な音楽センスとファッショナブルなヴィジュアルが話題を呼び、1985年、イギリスはラフ・トレード・レコード、ヨーロッパほかではヴァージン・レコード、日本ではアルファ・ムーン・レコードよりデビュー。以来、dip in the poolのサウンドメーカーとしては繊細且つ大胆なトラックと透明感のある甲田益也子のボーカルのマッチングによる浮遊感のある ONE AND ONLY のスタイルをブレる事無く貫き続けつつ、CMや映像音楽も多数手がけている。

16歳で始めたアマチュアバンド「ラブ・アフェアー」でデビュー。リリースしたシングルが全英No.1を獲得し、18歳の若さでトップアーティストに。その後はデビット・ボウイがプロデュースしたモット・ザ・フープルの全米ツアーに参加、その後メンバーとなる。1982年にはクイーンのヨーロッパ・ツアーに、サポート・キーボーディストとして参加。日本に移り住んでからは、Yoko Ono, THE BOOM、喜納昌吉、細野晴臣など多くの日本人アーティストと共演。さらに環境音楽のアルバムからCM音楽、アート系ビデオ、映画音楽と幅広く国内外で活躍中。

安田寿之
電子音楽をベースにジャンルレスに活動する音楽家。元FPM。ROBO*BRAZILEIRAとしてブラジル音楽を歌う等ユニークなソロ活動を主体に、Towa Tei、Atom Heart、Clare and The Reasons、Fernanda Takai 等、ジャンル問わず共作・共演。CM、中野裕之、篠山紀信、桑原茂一等への音楽提供も多数。「Red Hot + Rio 2」に、Beck、Caetano Veloso、Bebel Gilberto、David Byrne 等と共に、Red Hotシリーズ17作で初めて日本から参加。MEGADOLLYレーベル代表として新しい形の「音楽のソーシャル・ハブ」になるべく、直接配信契約するiTunes Store で多様なアーティスト作品を全世界発表。常に、既成概念を打破する新しい音楽の公表方法を模索／実施している。2013年には、1点物の音楽作品と写真を組み合わせた「音楽家の写真展」を行い、広告業界など他業種から注目を集める。出展作は完売し、これからの自由な発表方法の提示に成功した。

いつかカバーしようと思っていたブライアン・イーノの名曲を、今回取り上げた。シンプルな曲なので幅広くアレンジされているけど、僕が目指したのは声を中心にバッキングをつくる賛美歌のような雰囲気。かつ、エレクトリックな空気感も出すため、声を一音一音サンプリングしてプログラムすることも考えた。それらどちらも満たすのは本田みちよさんしか居ない、とコーラスを依頼。メインヴォーカルは、最初から甲田益也子さんが頭にあった。短い元曲だが、後半部分でメロディをつくりオルガン（洞窟の中で鳴っているような）などでコーダに。何となくアルバム後半に収録されるかと思っていたら（「Before and After Science」に倣い）、意外に1曲目になった。
光栄なことに、作者の一人であるHans-Joachim Roedelius氏から「とてもいいね。この「川」は好きだな！」とメッセージをいただいた。Morganさんは、氏と共作アルバム「Neverless」を作るなど友人である。（安田寿之）

This time I chose one of Brian Eno's masterpieces - one that I had been intending to cover for some time. I aimed to produce it like a hymn, as this simple song has been covered in various ways. Also I attempted to sample and program all the chorus voices, to give them an electronic feel. Michiyo Honda, who understands my motives, sang the chorus parts. From the beginning I knew that Miyako Koda had to sing the lead vocal. The original version of this song is short, so I made a second half played on an organ (sounding like it was in a cavern) and various other sounds. I thought this track would be placed near the end of the album - as it originally was on Eno's "Before and After Science" - but to my surprise, it was selected as the song to open the album.
We had the honour of receiving a positive comment ("Very nice - I like this river!") from Hans-Joachim Roedelius, one of the composers / lyricists of this song. Morgan and Roedelius jointly made an album several years ago ("Neverless"), and they are still good friends. (Toshiyuki Yasuda)

今回のアルバムの為に最初に書いた曲。普段は頭の中である程度まで作ってからコンピュータと鍵盤に向かうのだが、この曲は「ロマンチックで切ないピアノ曲」というお題のみで何の準備もせずに鍵盤に向かって20分くらいで作った、僕としては珍しいケース。手弾きの緩い感じが欲しかったので、譜面を送ってモーガンに弾いてもらったデータを再エディットして完成。（木村達司）

This was the first song I made for this album. Usually when I make a new song, I have it almost completely worked out in my head before I start to use a keyboard and computer. However, this track was created from scratch, sitting at the keyboard for about 20 minutes.  All I started out with was the idea of creating a romantic, yet melancholic song. Once it was written, I sent the score to Morgan, he played the piano part in a relaxed, laid-back way, then sent it back to me for final editing. (Tatsuji Kimura)

I mixed the "cavern organ" that I used on "By This River" with a relaxed, improvised piano part that I had recorded for my next solo album. A floating, twinkling bell and some light beats were provided by Tatsuji Kimura, which I edited a little. (Toshiyuki Yasuda)

僕は新しい楽器を手に入れると、ソレを使って作る曲のアイデアが直ぐに思い浮かぶ。今回のミルトン・ドラムという面白い手作りのパーカッションは、太古からの美しい響きを持っている。ミルトン・ドラムを演奏録音してみると、数年前に書いた歌のメロディと組み合わせるのが良いと思えた。歌を録音後、声をどこか太古から響く感じに加工してみた。我々が世界に存在する様々な問題を克服し、安らぎを得るために必要な人類共通の太古からの智慧を伝えてくれるようなイメージに。（Morgan Fisher）

Whenever I buy a new instrument I immediately get new ideas for a song. In this case it was an interesting handmade percussion instrument called a Milltone drum which for me has a beautiful, ancient sound. After recording it several times it felt right to add a vocal melody which I wrote several years ago. I processed my voice so it would have the same ancient quality, like the voice of the original heart of mankind, teaching us that in spite of all the world’s terrible problems, we will survive and find peace. ジェニーとは通常女性の名前であるが、この曲タイトルのジェニーはGeorges Jenny氏というフランス人男性の名前。彼は、1941年にOndiolineという世界初のシンセサイザーを発明した人物。Ondiolineは真空管を使ったとても暖かい音が特徴で、僕はそれの後発のモデル（1950年くらい、自分が生まれた頃に出来た）を持っている。Ondiolineで数トラックを重ね録りした後、鳥の歌を入れるアイデアが浮かんだ。きっとGeorges Jenny氏も、パリのどこかの大きな鳥の園で鳥達と演奏を楽しんだのではないだろうか。（Morgan Fisher）

Jenny is usually a woman’s name, but this Jenny is not a woman. It is a French man called Monsieur Georges Jenny. In 1941 he invented one of the world’s first synthesizers, called the Ondioline. This is a tube synthesizer with a very warm sound. I have a later model (from about 1950 - the same age as me). After layering the sounds of the Ondioline, it felt right to add the song of some birds. I can imagine Monsieur Jenny having fun playing with the birds inside a huge aviary in Paris! (Morgan Fisher)

安田くんの希望でイーノのBy This Riverを甲田さんに歌ってもらうことにした際に「歌モノ一曲だけだと浮くねぇ」ということで3曲くらい甲田さんに参加してもらうことにし、真っ先に浮かんだのがこの曲のリテイク。1993年にミック・イタヤさんが画集と共に世に出したAngelというCDにdip in the poolとして提供した曲で、原曲もアンビエントテイストだったものを今の気分で再録。歌以外に人の気配がするトラックが欲しかったので、安田くんにメロディカを吹いてもらった。（木村達司）

Toshiyuki Yasuda brought Miyako Koda in to sing on the track “By This River” (originally recorded by Brian Eno).
We then thought that it might be a little strange to have only one vocal track on an ambient album, and decided that it would be more balanced to have at least three vocal tracks. I immediately remembered this song, which I had already recorded for inclusion with a book of paintings by Mic Itaya (designer of some of Dip in the Pool’s album covers). It had an ambient feel to it, so I knew it would fit well on this album. For the new version, I decided that it should have another human/acoustic element added to it besides the vocal, and invited Toshiyuki to play his melodica on it. (Tatsuji Kimura)

自動演奏するピアノアプリ、即興演奏をマイク録りしたカリンバ、テノリオン的なiPhoneアプリのsinesynthを組み合わせた、未来のオルゴールのような曲。人間が誰も居なくなってもエラーでオルゴールが巻かれ鳴り続ける近未来SF映画のようなイメージ。実は、12曲目と一繋ぎの長い曲だったが、Morganさんに「ここで半分にすれば？」とご提案いただき、分割した。今回、音楽的な部分に加えてこういう客観性も大先輩から学ぶ部分だった。（安田寿之）

This track sounds like a music box played in a fictitious future, combining an automatic piano app, an improvised kalimba and a Tenori-on-like sine wave synth called "Sinewave Synthesizer" from an iPhone. I composed this piece while imagining an SF movie where, for some reason, the human race has disappeared, and a lone music box plays on, eternally... Actually the original version of this track was very long, but Morgan suggested that I cut it into two (the second half became track M12). I think this kind of objective advice is very helpful for me, in addition to learning musical techniques from my mentors. (Toshiyuki Yasuda)

甲田さんの歌で普段のように曲を作るとdip in the poolになっちゃうので、この曲は以前全く別の曲の為に（アルバム「brown eyes」に収録したa bridge to the rings of the Saturn）録音された生ピアノを切り貼りしたトラックを作り、それにメロディを乗せて、、、という手法で作った。具体的にはサビとブリッジのピアノトラックがまず出来てメロディを書き、そこから他のメロディを発展させ、それに合うピアノパーツを嵌め込む、といった具合。最終形に落ち着くまで何転もしていて、実は歌を取ってからコードを変えたりもしている。（木村達司）

I began working on this song by making a collage of some piano phrases taken from “A Bridge to the Rings of Saturn” (a track on the last Dip in the Pool album “Brown Eyes”). Over this backing, the melody evolved in fits and starts - a chorus, a bridge, a verse, etc., while the piano phrases also changed and transformed. It was a long and involved process, and even after recording Miyako Koda’s vocal, I changed some of the accompanying chords. (Tatsuji Kimura)

今回のアルバム制作にあたって「このくらいがギリギリのポップ加減かな？」みたいな一つの基準として作った曲。「多分クールな曲が多くなるだろう」という読みもあって、少々可愛いものを意識。これも普段とは違う作り方をしていて、ほぼ無作為に女性と男性のボーカルサンプルをDAWのオーディオトラックにポンと置いて、そこから色々膨らまして作った。後に、男性ボーカルのサンプルをモーガンに歌ってもらった。（木村達司）

This was an attempt to create an almost “normal” song which could work on an album that has evolved a style somewhere in between pop and ambient music. I expected most of the album to be rather cool and cerebral, and decided that this track could bring a little beauty and warmth to the project. Once again, I took a different approach to the making of this song. I started out by almost randomly assembling a collection of male and female voice samples on my computer, which I then shifted and shuffled until a pleasing arrangement emerged. When the song was almost complete, I replaced the male samples with recordings of Morgan’s voice. (Tatsuji Kimura)

素晴らしく、神秘的な声を持つ友人、甲田益也子さんの声をサンプリングし、それを使ってまるで生きていて呼吸してでもいるかような鍵盤を"演奏"したのはとても楽しかった。タイトルに含まれる“phone”という単語は、電話機（telephone）、拡声器（megaphone）、サックス（saxophone）のように音を発する機器を表すので、甲田さんの声を発するキーボードをKodaphoneと名付けた。この曲のベースになっている部分はカセットテープにアイデアスケッチとして保存していたものをそのまま使っている。そのある種lo-fiな質感がKodaphoneによる甲田さんの人工的な"歌"と良い感じに融合していると思う。（Morgan Fisher）

It was a real pleasure for me to sample the wonderful, mysterious voice of my friend Miyako Koda and “play” her voice, like a kind of living, breathing keyboard. The word “phone” means sound - as in “telephone,” "megaphone" and “saxophone” . So I called my new virtual keyboard the Kodaphone. This track is based on a short synthesizer piece taken from a library of musical ideas I have on cassette. It had a lo-fi, nostalgic sound that combined nicely with Koda-san’s virtual “singing.” (Morgan Fisher)

「GeoSonix」という画像から音を生成するアプリケーションを使いつくったベースライン（頭で考えてはなかなかできないフレーズ）を土台に、僕の歌手エイリアス「Robo*Brazileira」が歌うメロディをつくった。シンセリフは少しクラフトワークのイメージも。貝殻を放り投げたらクワオアー（太陽系外縁天体の一つ）になる、という空想は「2001年宇宙の旅」のようでもあり。（安田寿之）

The melody of this track is sung by my virtual singer known as "Robo*brazileira" over a bass line generated by "GeoSonix", an application which creates musical phrases related to graphic data. The synth riffs may remind you of Kraftwerk. Perhaps someday the story told in this song - a seashell thrown in the sky and transforming into Quaoar (one of the trans-Neptunian dwarf planets) - will be compared to a similar sequence from "2001: A Space Odyssey". 7曲目から続く「未来のオルゴール」の後半。何となくこの3つの楽器（ピアノ、カリンバ、サイン波）を選んだが、不思議にかみ合う音色群だった。無人の中で機械仕掛けの音が鳴り続けるイメージですが、あと1000年経ってもちゃんと人類が生き残っていますように..。（安田寿之）

This was originally the second half of track M07. I chose these 3 instruments (piano, kalimba, sine wave synth) intuitively, but I think they are very compatible. I hope that my theme - instruments playing automatically on an uninhabited earth - is just a fantasy, and that the human race will still survive in 3038. (Toshiyuki Yasuda)

Phillip Bimsteinというアメリカ人の友人がいる。彼は素晴らしいミニマル・アメリカーナ・ミュージックの作曲家で、今風なデジタル・サンプリングとフォークを融合させるという面白い手法を用いている。彼のサンプリングのスタイルはとても有機的で、動物の声、ネイティブ・アメリカンの声や歌、あるいは卓球の音、、、etc。この曲では彼の手法にインスパイアされて、ナイフの刃の部分をテーブル上に固定して柄の部分を震わせた音をサンプリングした。学生時代のランチタイムに教師への意地悪としてよくやったものだ！そのサンプリング音と幾つかのエレピのループが基本になっているのだが、エレピのループは “Morgan’s Organ”と題して東京のSuperdeluxeに於いて2003～2013年の間に100回行ったライブ・パフォーマンスの音源から使っている。（Morgan Fisher）

I have an American friend named Phillip Bimstein. He is a very fine composer of minimal Americana music - a unique blend of modern digital sampling and folk music. His way of sampling is very organic, using animal sounds, the voices of his native American friends, and on one song, samples of a ping pong ball. He inspired me to sample the sound of a knife bouncing on a table - something me and my friends did a lot at school, to annoy the teachers at lunchtime! This sound is mixed with some electric piano loops from one of my live “Morgan’s Organ” keyboard performances - a series of 100 monthly solo concerts I gave at Superdeluxe, Tokyo from 2003-2013. 東日本大地震救済支援コンピレーション・アルバム『Play for Japan 2012』

日本中が心を傷めた2011年3月11日の東日本大震災から1 年。今や多くの人々が日常を取り戻し、各々の生活を営んでいます。けれども決して忘れてはいけないことは、故郷に帰ることが出来ない人々がいるということ。仮設住宅に暮らす人々がいるということ。そして、福島第一原子力発電所の事故はまだ収まってはいないということ。

OTOTOYで制作したコンピレーション・アルバム『PLAY FOR JAPAN』の発売からもうすぐ1 年。我々は、このアルバムを通して、音楽をお金に変えて必要とする人に届けられることを体験しました。震災復興はこれからもずっと続きます。必要としている人々がいる限り、OTOTOYは音楽のエネルギーと、音楽で生み出したお金を届ける活動を続けていきたいと思っています。

そのため、OTOTOYでは新たに『PLAY FOR JAPAN 2012』を、多くのアーティストやバンドの皆さんの協力を得て制作しました。『PLAY FOR JAPAN 2012』には、音楽だけでなく、写真や絵も加わっています。その数、240作品以上! それらを、キュレーターやエンジニアの協力のもと、11枚のアルバムとしてデジタル・リリースします。全ての作品の共通テーマは、震災復興にとどまらないそれぞれにとっての「PLAY FOR JAPAN」。

アーティストとリスナー、そしてOTOTOYが一緒になって、粘り強く、被災地の再建と復興に協力していきましょう。ぜひ協力をお願いします。

大地震、大津波、そして原子力発電所の事故、この未曾有の災害により被災された皆様に、心よりお見舞い申し上げます。

1995年阪神・淡路大震災の時、当時高校生だった僕は、実家の兵庫県西宮市にいて被災者となりました。電気は3日間、ガスは1ヶ月来ませんでした。学校は遺体の安置所となり、1ヶ月以上開校出来ませんでした。そうした体験から、この大地震が起こった後、ミュージシャンとして、そして音楽配信サイトOTOTOYで働く者として、今何が出来るかを考えました。ミュージシャンは、音楽を生むことが出来ます。音楽配信サイトは、それを出来るだけ早く販売し、お金に変えることが出来ます。そこで、OTOTOYで東日本大地震救済支援コンピレーション・アルバムを作ることに致しました。

アルバム・タイトルは、『Play for Japan』。「日本の未来のために演奏する」と言う意味を込めています。

まずOTOTOYと関わりのあるミュージシャンやレーベルの方をお誘いしました。当初は50曲ぐらいと予想しておりましたが、様々な皆さんにご協力いただいて、なんと112アーティスト、112曲もの楽曲が集まりました。また一般公募したジャケット・デザインにも多くの参加があり、その中から6人の方にお願いし、素敵なジャケットが出来上がりました。それを、OTOTOY編集部と多くのライター、3人のマスタリング・エンジニアが編集し、このアルバムが世に出ることになりました。この間、わずか5日。みなさんの熱い気持ちを感じていただければと思います。

こうして完成させることが出来た『Play for Japan vol.1-vol.6』。販売に当たっては、クレジット決済手数料約5%と、著作権管理事業者へ登録済の楽曲に関しては、著作権料約7.7%を除いた全ての売り上げを、東日本大地震の義援金として、日本赤十字社を通じて寄付致します。ミュージシャン、デザイナー、ライター、エンジニア、編集部... 皆が出来る事を精一杯行ってエネルギーとお金を生み、それらが少しでも被災した皆さんの助けになれば幸いです。

発売日は、2011年3月17日。我々の思いが、少しでも被災地に届きますように。みなさん、一緒に、粘り強く、再建と復興をめざして歩んでいきましょう。
